Ultra-thin design for a sleek and styled appearance
The Samsung UNC8000 accomplishes an astounding thinness of less than half an inch. This feat is made possible by adding in the system’s sound buffer and other pieces of technology into the base stand, which can also be converted into a wall-mount depending on user preferences. Amazingly, this new level of ultra-thin does nothing to impede image quality. The Samsung UNC8000 features Edge-lit backlighting, 1080p resolution, a full 240hz refresh rate, and improved black levels over designs from earlier years.
3D capability & Real-time 2D conversion
This years UN C8000 line of 3D TV from Samsung offers a proprietary processor that supports several standards, including half-resolution and Full HD alongside the new Blu-Ray 3D standard. Also featured is the ability to convert 2D images to 3D in real-time, resulting in a vastly improved viewing experience regardless of the source content. This 3D technology and conversion capability is offered in several coming Samsung TVs this year, whether plasma or LCD.
Samsung Apps & Wi-Fi Internet connectivity
In addition to the cache of features offered with the Samsung UNC8000, an online application store accessible via your Wi-Fi connection will allow for greater expansion and customization, with content ranging from free, available to subscribers, or purchasable for a small fee. The improved Internet TV feature includes content and applications from known sources such as: The Associated Press, Blockbuster, Netflix, Pandora, The Travel Channel, Twitter and Facebook, and YouTube among others.
The Samsung UNC8000 and its brethren continue to narrow the divide between television and computer as features and content continue to expand and the boundaries of modern entertainment technology and constantly being pushed to new limits. With its Wi-Fi capability and ready-to-use Ethernet right out of the box, the Samsung UNC8000 is among the most promising systems to emerge in the coming era of 3D TV technology.
